Serene Spring

This is the last card I finished and I sent it off today for a monthly swap I'm in. It's pretty much all Stampin Up except the VersaFine ink I stamped the main image with, the Cuttlebug folder Birds and Swirls was used for the embossing, and the corners are rounded with an EK Success punch. I'm working on another card but I'm not sure how it's going to come out. If it turns out okay I'll post it next. I like the colors so far, but I'm not so sure I like the stamping I've done. ;-)
We've had a little more snow here and it turned much colder again (In the teens now) so I guess old man winter is not ready to leave us just yet. Keep thinking SPRING!

I'm Back!

Front of card using Hollo's Paper and Stampin Up card stock cut with Cricut cartridges Celebrations and Plantin Schoolbook and highlighted with Gelly Roll Stardust roll-on glitter pen. Corners punched with EK Success Corner Adorner Love X3.

Inside upper fold using using Hollo's Paper card stock and Cricut Doodle Charms cartridge.

Inside of card using Stampin Up card stock and Cricut Celebrations cartridge.

I've done some more work with my Cricut and made a second birthday card for our youngest granddaughter. She has two black cats so I used the cat images on her card.

I think it's time to get back to my blog. We had a really great time vacationing in San Diego but it sure spoils one for having to come back to cold and snow. I had to get some of my card swaps finished on my return and think I'm caught up for the moment. Of course, March is just around the corner, and that will mean new swap partners. Lent arrived today also which is a little depressing until I think...WOW that means Easter is only 6 weeks away. Have to think positive!

I haven't done very well with my reading groups lately. I've skipped the last three although I did the homework for one and part for a second. Decided to take some time just to read for fun. Read Jonathan Kellerman's The Conspiracy Club and listened to Fern Michael's Hokus Pokus and Nora Robert's Tribute. I enjoyed them all, but I suppose it's time to quit vegging out and read something of substance to keep the old brain clicking along. Have to ward off dementia with active brain work! LOL Actually if I'm trying to figure out who the bad guy is and how the heroines or heroes are going to catch him isn't that solid brain work? Am I trying to convince myself? ;-)

I joined Facebook just before we left on vacation so I'd be able to view our oldest granddaughter's pictures online and discovered all kinds of friends belong to Facebook and also discovered there are card making groups on Facebook. Another place to go for inspiration. I'm really excited and happy. I was able to see the video of our granddaughter and son earning their red belts also so it's now one of my new favorite places.
Hope all my friends are doing well and remembering to think postive. Spring is almost here!!

New Cards

This is the card I made for our granddaughter's first birthday.
The paper is Stampin Up and Hollo's Paper. Stamps are Stampabilities and All Night Media, inks are VersaFine and Stampin Up, and coloring was done with Stampin Up markers. The bunny on the inside was cut with my Cubblebug using a Sizzix die from the Stuffed Animal set. The color is not showing up right for the inside though. I'll be glad when I get the scanner up and running on this computer since it's easier to upload the pictures that way and I think the colors are truer.

Next is a card I made for my Mother using the Technique Junkies Triple Play technique from this month's newsletter. I didn't follow the recommended scale though. The left side of my card is 4 inches instead of 3 inches. This is the first time I tried paper piercing and it's not quite even or straight. I hope to get better with practice. LOL It's difficult to see but the card is Stampin Up Pink Pirouette and the red is Red Riding Hood Red, two of Stampin Up's In Colors for this year. The ribbon is from Michael's, ink is VersaFine, and stamps and markers are Stampin Up.

Thanks for looking in on my blog and hope you'll make any suggestions you have in comments.

This is a card I made for a swap in one of my Online stamping groups. It's Technique Junkies Black Pearls technique from the April 2004 newsletter. Paper and stamp are Stampin Up. The technique uses aluminum foil with a napkin spread over it. Use black acrylic paint to cover the napkin and let it dry overnight. Then Modge Podge and Pearl Ex are added. It's a fun card to make. The snowflakes were cut with my Cricut Expression.
I've started working on the techniques from this month's newsletter so hope to have more cards to post.
Hope you are all staying warm. We had lots of snow here again today.
